Chabad Rabbi Yaakov Biton shared his views on the growing challenges facing Jews in France. He gave an interview to The Jerusalem Post and expressed fears about the future of the Jewish community in the country. According to him, the time of Jews in France may be up, and perhaps no more than 10 years remain.
He compared the Jewish community in France to the time of the Tabernacle, a mobile temple before the Temple in Jerusalem was built. City officials and police took steps to protect Jews, but security became more tense after the horrific massacre by Hamas militants.
Biton noted that unpleasant episodes occur in the area, previously populated by Jews. The number of children who are moving to Chabad education is increasing due to pressure and manifestations of anti-Semitism from their peers. The growing anti-Semitism is associated with the activities of left-wing radical groups that influence public relations in France.
