The 96th Division is currently being formed in Israel, which will be tasked with protecting the country's cities in the event of a large-scale terrorist attack. It will cover the area from Gush Dan to Eilat, preparing for threats and ensuring rapid response.
The division is expected to have approximately 15,000 highly trained fighters who can be deployed within minutes or hours, depending on the unit. The goal is to ensure rapid deployment of forces to properly respond to any threats.
There are also plans to create a new ultra-Orthodox brigade within the army. The major general made it clear that in the future the brigade will consist of ultra-Orthodox soldiers and will have special means of communication. Work is also underway to form a new reserve division of five brigades to replenish troops in the face of shortages.
