Israel's Foreign Minister said the country would agree to a ceasefire only if a number of conditions were met. Among the states involved in the process of developing the agreement are Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Canada. A new condition that was not presented earlier is the disarmament of Hezbollah.
Such a condition was clearly not mentioned in the list of requirements earlier. The disarmament of Hezbollah and its removal across the Litani River are mandatory actions to end the hostilities, the minister believes. The UN Security Council resolution enshrining this point ended one of the wars in Lebanon, but until the condition is met, Israel will continue to guarantee the safety of its citizens.
Israel also conveyed a message to the foreign ministers regarding Iran: in the event of an attack from Iran, the country will respond in kind. Such statements demonstrated Israel's tough position in the context of the military conflict and political tensions in the region.
