On September 19, 2025, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonian airspace, prompting condemnation from Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

Recent Incidents

According to the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces, the aircraft were on Estonian territory for approximately twelve minutes. This violation, according to Sa’ar, is dangerous for regional stability.

Reflecting on the situation, the head of Israel’s foreign policy department noted that such actions should be avoided. Sa’ar’s post on the social network X contained an unequivocal message:

“Israel is concerned about the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian aircraft. These violations, along with recent events in Poland, could jeopardize stability and peace in the region.”

Israel’s Reaction

Sa’ar’s statement was not the first of its kind. He had already spoken on this issue. On August 5, during a UN Security Council meeting, the minister again accused Russian representatives of lying. He emphasized that Russia’s actions in Ukraine are deeply concerning.

“It was laughable to listen to the representative of the Russian Federation speak here after three and a half years of brutal aggression,” he pointed out, referring to ongoing conflicts.

Related Events

In the context of the Estonian airspace violation incident, it is also worth mentioning the Russian drone raid on Ukraine that occurred on September 10. Some drones, penetrating Ukrainian airspace, were shot down by Polish fighters when they were scrambled, destroying about 10 targets.

Thus, the actions of the Russian military are becoming increasingly provocative, posing a threat to neighboring states and heightening tensions in the region. Undoubtedly, these events will be at the forefront of the international community’s attention.
