Israel does not seek to escalate the war, but is preparing for all possible scenarios, Defense Minister Yoav Galant said. He noted that the work in Beirut overnight was targeted, high-quality and restrained.

“We don't want war, but we are preparing for all possible options, and that means you have to be ready if needed,” he said.

His statement came after an IDF airstrike killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr yesterday and this morning in Tehran, Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of the Hamas group, which the US and EU also designate as a terrorist group, was reportedly killed.
