Israel and Hamas resume talks in Qatar in an attempt to reach a truce and end the conflict

Israel has begun negotiations with Hamas in Qatar to free hostages from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the resumption of negotiations with Hamas in Qatar on the release of hostages abducted in October 2023.

“Efforts are being made to free the hostages, in particular the Israeli delegation, which left yesterday (Friday) for negotiations in Qatar,” Katz’s office said in a statement.

Benjamin Netanyahu gave instructions to continue negotiations.
