Iran plans to soon transfer new ballistic missiles to Russia, a key development for Russia given its shortage of weapons, according to defense analyst Sean Bell, who noted that Russia typically relies on older weapons but has significant stockpiles, unlike Ukraine.

Even the Russian army is running low on supplies, and despite increasing its own production, Moscow needs additional supplies from Iran and North Korea. According to the analyst, the contract between Russia and Iran was signed in December 2023, and the deliveries are expected to be made in the coming days.

Iran plans to transfer two types of short-range missiles, allowing Russia to retain its Iskanders for long-range targets, raising concerns about the increased threat to Ukraine. Russian troops are also reportedly being trained in Iran to use the new missiles.
