The Islamic Republic News Agency IRNA reported the launch of the Iranian research satellite Chamran-1 into low Earth orbit. The satellite was launched by a Qayem-100 launch vehicle and reached an altitude of 550 kilometers. The satellite weighs about 60 kilograms and was developed by Iranian companies.

Immediately after the launch, Chamran-1 began transmitting its first signals. Its main task is to test hardware and software to verify orbital maneuvering technologies. The satellite will also be used to evaluate the performance of navigation and control systems in space.
