The Israel Defense Forces said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an airstrike on September 27 in Beirut, and Hezbollah officially confirmed his death on September 28. Due to this assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was transported to a safe location inside the country with increased security measures.
