Let us remind you that on the night of Christmas, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with “Shaheds”.
And the question is: “Why is the Iranian embassy still working in Ukraine?” — for some reason it still remains “unanswered.”
The Iranian Embassy in Ukraine unexpectedly decided to congratulate Ukrainians on Christmas and New Year, wishing them “peace, security and comfort”.
On my official Facebook page Iran's charge d'affaires stated:
“The New Year is the harbinger of new opinions and new resolutions for the future, which we hope will be better than the past. Hopefully in the New Year peace, security and comfort will return to your land“.
However, such words sound like outright mockery, because it is Iran that supplies Russia with the Shahed kamikaze drones, with which they attack Ukrainian cities almost every night.
Let us note that peace could have come to Ukrainian soil faster if Ukraine had not been attacked every night by Iranian Shaheeds, which Tehran supplies to the Russians.
It's hard to imagine that this is said seriously. Most likely, Iran thus tried to “show themselves as normal” to the world community.
However, instead of the desired effect, their attempt looked like another mockery of the victims of war.
Diplomatic provocation or complete misunderstanding of the context?
Such statements often raise questions about the real motives. There are several possible reasons for this behavior:
- Attempt to improve image. Iran is apparently trying to demonstrate its “friendliness” amid accusations of facilitating terrorist attacks. But who will believe these words if every night Ukrainian cities are attacked by their own drones?
- Provocation. Such a congratulation may be designed to create an internal Ukrainian discussion: “Why do we still maintain diplomatic relations with Iran?”
- Absolute hypocrisy. To be honest, it looks like a joke to first supply the aggressor with weapons and then talk about peace.
Relations between Ukraine and Iran: from cooperation to tension
Once upon a time, Ukraine and Iran had quite stable diplomatic relations. The situation began to change in 2020, after the tragedy of a Ukrainian UIA plane shot down by an Iranian missile.
After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Iran took the side of the aggressor. According to Ukrainian authorities, Iran has supplied Russia with thousands of Shahed drones since the beginning of the war. In 2023 alone, they were used in more than 2,000 attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Why is the Iranian embassy still operating in Ukraine?
This question is being raised more and more often. In 2023, Ukraine has already recalled its ambassador from Tehran and limited the work of the Iranian embassy. However, a break in diplomatic relations has not yet occurred.
“NAnews” about Tehran’s cynicism
On our website “NAnovosti” – Israeli News, we have repeatedly raised the topic of the Russian-Iranian alliance. It is obvious that any words about peace from the lips of Iran have no weight as long as this regime continues to arm the Russian occupiers.
The Iranian embassy's attempt to present itself as peace-loving looks like a farce that will not deceive either the Ukrainians or the international community.
Quote from a Ukrainian diplomat:
“Peace is impossible where weapons handed over to the aggressor are used every day.”
Bottom line: who is really fighting for peace?
Ukraine, Israel and their partners know the price of a real struggle for freedom and security. Iran's diplomatic manipulations are an attempt to hide its real actions, which serve as an instrument of terror.
Bright Hanukkah and Christmas remind us that light always triumphs over darkness. And no matter how loud the words of the aggressors may be, the truth remains on the side of those who defend peace and justice.
