Iran views Israel's attack on its territory on the night of October 26, 2024 as a violation of international law and the UN Charter, the country's Foreign Ministry said.
According to the statement, Iran believes that it has the right and responsibility to defend itself against foreign acts of aggression in accordance with legitimate self-defense, which is also reflected in Article 51 of the UN Charter.
According to the same article, the Charter does not limit the right to individual or collective self-defense in the event of an armed attack on a member of the organization until the Security Council takes the necessary measures to maintain international peace and security.
