Iran agrees to reduce uranium reserves, according to IAEA

Iran tried to block a resolution against it at the IAEA, proposing to limit uranium reserves to insufficient for the creation of weapons. The IAEA reported that Iran is ready to do this and has already begun preparations.

However, Western diplomats rejected Iran's proposal.

Iran's proposal was to limit its uranium stockpile to 185 kg, enough for four warheads. Iran says it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons.

The IAEA report indicated that Iran's uranium reserves increased by 17.6 kg to 182.3 kg by October 26.

Iran's Foreign Minister warned of aggravation of the situation if a resolution against Tehran is adopted by the IAEA.
