France demands answers from Israel after attack on holy site.

France accused Israel of interfering in bilateral relations following an incident in Jerusalem in which Israeli security forces entered territory under French administration. According to Reuters, two French diplomats were detained during the incident.

“The incident took place in the Pater Noster church complex on the Mount of Olives while French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault was there. The complex, like three other sites in Jerusalem, is considered French territory and falls under French responsibility.”

Paris is indignant and demands respect for the special status of French diplomatic zones on the part of Israel, as well as compliance with international law.
