On January 2, 2025, a special event will take place in Haifa – Hanukkah charity party in Ukrainian shtetl style. The event brings together Jewish and Ukrainian cultural traditions in a warm and friendly format.
Meeting address – Derech Haatzmaut, 7, Haifastarts at 18:00.
The event was organized by activists and the initiative “For refugees from Ukraine – humanitarian aid HaifaNorth“.
Their goal is not only to give guests a holiday, but also to raise funds for the development of programs “Ukrainian cultural and development center “We are together!” in Haifa.
What awaits guests?
The event promises to be eventful and exciting. In the program:
- 🎠 Fair of souvenirs and unique products
Visitors will be able to purchase handcrafted works by local artists, supporting the creative community.
- 🎨 Creative master classes
Those interested will be able to learn traditional crafts and art in the format of master classes.
- 🍲 Delicious Ukrainian cuisine
Traditional dishes and drinks will create the atmosphere of a cozy family feast.
- 🎻 Live music and dancing
Ukrainian and Jewish melodies, as well as cheerful dances will unite the guests of the holiday.
- 📷 Photo zone in the style of the 19th–20th century
Family photos against the backdrop of an environment inspired by the atmosphere of ancient Ukrainian shtetls will become an excellent memory of the event.
Cost and registration
Entrance to the party is by donation:
- 50 shekels — standard fee;
- Free entry for children and soldiers.

Symbols of the Ukrainian shtetl
Shtetls, small Jewish towns, were an integral part of the history of Ukrainian Jews. These settlements represented a unique cultural phenomenon, where Ukrainian and Jewish traditions were closely intertwined. The organizers decided to recreate the atmosphere of the shtetl to remind guests of the importance of preserving memory and mutual understanding between peoples.
“We create a space where culture unites rather than divides. A Hanukkah party is an opportunity to feel that Ukrainians and Jews are truly “together”, even far from home.”,” say the organizers.
