However, given the established facts, Baku expects that the Russian side will admit to shooting down the Azerbaijani plane.”

After the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines in Kazakhstan, Israel's national air carrier El Al suspended flights to Russia. According to information, on December 25, a plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near the airport in Aktau in Kazakhstan. There were 67 people on board, of whom 38 died.

Later, videos appeared on the Internet showing holes on the tail of the Azerbaijani plane. This led to speculation about the possible defeat of the Russian air defense aircraft. On December 26, Euronews, citing sources in the Azerbaijani government, reported that the crash could have been caused by a surface-to-air missile.
