The Ganot prison authorities discovered that two Arab prisoners from Hamas were preparing to attack guards with homemade weapons. During a search of the cell, they found a specially sharpened toothbrush hidden inside a shampoo bottle.
Investigation launched. The head of the Israel Prison Service has expressed concern about the potential danger of toothbrushes being turned into bladed weapons to attack prison staff.
General Yaakobi commissioned the development of a safe alternative to such toothbrushes. The result was a new model of “maximum safety toothbrush” the size of a finger, made of soft material.
