Jordan's national carrier Royal Jordanian temporarily suspended flights to Beirut on Sunday because of the situation. The airline told Reuters there was no record of any violations in Jordanian airspace.
Air France also suspended flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut for 24 hours following Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. A spokesman for the airline said flights would be delayed until further notice, depending on the situation in the Middle East.
British Airways has also decided to temporarily suspend flights to and from Tel Aviv until midweek. A spokesman for the airline stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of passengers and said the situation in the Middle East would be closely monitored.
Iran-aligned Hezbollah responded to the killing of commander Fuad Shukr with an Israeli strike on Beirut, firing missiles and drones into Israel. The Israeli military said it had carried out strikes in Lebanon ahead of the alleged Hezbollah attacks.
The latest escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah came after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, raising concerns about the reaction of Iran and its supporters in the region.
