Reuters, citing six senior sources, reported that the Biden administration is pushing a new initiative that includes ending the fighting in Gaza and Lebanon and returning kidnapped Israelis. According to Reuters, the plan is being discussed on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. At the same time, a senior source in Lebanon told Reuters that Hezbollah is open to any initiative that will lead to an end to the war in Gaza and Lebanon.

Three senior Israeli sources told Reuters the United States and France were working to reach a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel but had made little progress.
