On the morning of Wednesday, October 16, the publication of information about the detention in Israel of another citizen suspected of collaborating with Iranian intelligence was allowed. He turned out to be 35-year-old Vladimir Verkhovsky, who lives in Petah Tikva and repatriated from Ukraine. He carried out tasks ordered by Iranian intelligence services, for which he received payment, and even agreed to kill an Israeli scientist for a certain amount.
The investigation established that Verkhovsky consciously collaborated with hostile intelligence and took measures to maintain the security of communications by purchasing a special phone. He carried out various tasks, collected information, left money for Israeli agents and even already had weapons with him to complete the task. He will soon be charged and brought to court in Lod.
Vladimir Verkhovsky will be charged with collaborating with Iranian intelligence; similar charges have already been brought against other Iranian agents. Previously, similar cases of cooperation with hostile intelligence services were also known.
