Yosef Wiener, a Holocaust survivor who lost three family members in the Kibbutz Kfar Azah massacre on October 7, 2023, died on December 25 at the age of 98. His life was full of suffering, but he found the strength to start a family and take root in the land of Israel.
Having repatriated to Israel after the Holocaust, Yosef built a happy life, raising children and grandchildren. He described his journey as “rooted in Zion,” indicating his deep attachment to the country and culture.
However, the tragedy of October 7, 2023 interrupted his family journey. Grandsons – Yahav, Hadar and Itai – died protecting their twins. Yosef was left alone, deprived of the land that symbolized his roots and his family.
