By the evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported 18 dead, four of them were children. Dozens of people were injured, among the victims were seven children. Rescuers managed to pull out and save 15 people, including a child. According to Zelensky, there were people who were not in contact, and the debris clearing continued.
This is not a house next to the impact site. The Russian missile hit directly into the residential building.
The strike occurred around six in the morning. Two entrances of the five-story building were destroyed. People were searched for under the debris of apartments. Besides the destroyed building itself, other multi-story and private houses, the Children’s and Youth Creativity Center, an enterprise, cars, and gas networks were damaged in the city.
The Chernihiv Regional Administration reported that Russia launched six cruise missiles at Pryluky, presumably X-101. After the attack, more than 18,000 residents were temporarily left without gas. Investigators opened a case under the article on a war crime that resulted in the death of people.
NAnovosti — News of Israel | Nikk.Agency has already reported other cases when Russian missiles and drones destroyed Ukrainian families directly in their homes. In August, near Kyiv, five Russian drones hit one house — a three-year-old boy died along with his grandmother and grandfather.
For the Israeli reader, it is important to understand the geography: Pryluky is a city in the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine. It is not a combat position on the front line. In the morning, a Russian missile entered an ordinary apartment building where families with children were located.
One of the deceased families has already been identified. Together perished 58-year-old Viktoria Bondarenko, her 37-year-old daughter Kateryna Antypenko, and one-year-old grandson Sasha. The boy was one year and nine months old.
Also among the dead is a railway worker’s family: a “Ukrzaliznytsia” train driver, his wife, 13-year-old daughter, and eight-year-old son Maksim.
This is the price of the morning Russian attack on Pryluky.
Three children who were one year old. An eight-year-old boy. Their parents and relatives. A destroyed residential building.
Not “collateral damage.” Not faceless numbers of another report.
People whom Russia killed in their homes.
