At a recent dinner with Central Asian leaders, U.S. President Donald Trump once again claimed “notable progress” in his efforts to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. It sounded loud — like a promise of peace that millions have been waiting for so long.

Trump proudly noted that his team managed to resolve eight armed conflicts in eight months. Among those mentioned were Armenia and Azerbaijan, India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, as well as Israel’s fight with Hamas.

In Search of Peace and Recognition

These statements reflect the ambitions and limitations of American diplomacy. Each new statement by Trump demonstrates not only his desire to strengthen his status as a peacemaker but also the reality in which global conflicts are not resolved with a single call.

Ukraine and Israel, South Asia and the Middle East — all these are elements of a complex geopolitical mosaic where every word of leaders can change the balance of power.
