The Spanish Prime Minister welcomed the recognition of Palestine by Britain, Australia, and Canada

The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, supported the decision of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to recognize the State of Palestine, declared on Sunday, September 21, 2025. This confirms the growing international “support for the Palestinian issue.”

Sanchez expressed his position on one of the social networks. He recalled that Spain was one of the first countries to decide to recognize Palestine in May 2024, along with Norway and Ireland.

He stated:

“We were the first. The United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia will not be the last. Together for the creation of two states, so that Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace.”

The Deputy Prime Minister of Spain also published the flags of the countries that supported the recognition, including Norway, Iceland, Slovenia, Armenia, and India.

Situation in the Region

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel sharply condemned the decision of the United Kingdom and other countries. At the moment, Portugal and almost ten other states are still considering the issue of recognizing Palestine in the coming days.
