On September 8 in Jerusalem, vaguely identified individuals “of Palestinian origin” opened fire on a passenger bus at the Ramot intersection. As a result of the attack, five people were killed, and more than ten were injured, reports the Israeli emergency service.
Incident Details
The attack occurred around 10:15. Initially, it was reported that 15 people were injured, but it was later revealed that four people died at the scene — a man approximately 50 years old and three men around 30 years old. One injured person died in a medical facility.
The total number of injured exceeded ten. Seven of them are in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and three with minor injuries. Some of the injured were taken to the hospital, while others received assistance at the scene.
Attackers
According to information provided by the Times of Israel, the militants were neutralized at the scene. Presumably, they were “Palestinians from the West Bank.”
The weapon used by the attackers was a homemade submachine gun “Carlo,” commonly constructed in illegal workshops in the West Bank. Similar weapons have been used in other attacks before.
Hamas Reaction
Representatives of Hamas reacted to the attack, calling it a “heroic operation.” Their statement emphasizes that this action was a natural response to the “crimes of the occupiers” against the Palestinian people.
Despite this, Hamas did not claim responsibility for the attack but called on “Palestinians in the West Bank” to more actively resist the occupation and its settlers.
Law Enforcement Work
Law enforcement agencies and security forces continue to work at the scene, and the investigation is being activated.
