On June 28, 2025, at Leumi Park, Ramat Gan, an event will take place (if martial law allows – ed.) that has already become a beloved summer tradition for the Ukrainian diaspora — Summer Zdybanka 2025: A Celebration of Ukrainian Traditions in Israel.

The organizers emphasize that this is not just a cultural event, but a space of unity, remembrance, and support — with the soul of Ukraine and the heart of Israel.

Organizers and the Mission of the Event

The event is organized by volunteer groups “Ukrainian Zdybanky in Israel” and MAK_UA (Ukrainian Amateur Artistic Workshop in Israel). Their initiatives have existed since 2020 and are not financed by government or political structures.

“Everything we do is thanks to the efforts of volunteers and the cohesion of our community,” say the organizers.

The goal of the Zdybanka is to preserve Ukrainian identity, to introduce children and adults to traditional customs, to create a safe space for communication, and at the same time to raise donations for Ukrainian soldiers of the Armed Forces.

Ukraine and Israel: Cultural and Volunteer Solidarity

The editorial team of NAnews — Israel News has repeatedly reported how cultural initiatives become a vital part of Jewish public life in Israel, especially for those with Ukrainian roots. Amid ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, events like Summer Zdybanka serve as acts of moral resistance and cultural unity.

“Come and touch the real Ukraine,” the organizers invite.

Everyone matters here: the one who sings, who brings books, who weaves a wreath, who bakes a pie — and especially the one who donates to help save lives of civilians and soldiers on the frontlines.

The website NAnews — Israel News continues to follow events where the histories of the Ukrainian and Jewish peoples intersect. Summer Zdybanka 2025 is not just an opportunity to spend the day with family, but to become part of a larger story of support and solidarity taking place right here in Israel.
