Israel is ready to host a friendly match with the Russian national football team: Russian media quotes the Secretary General of the Israeli Football Association

Following the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, inviting Russian tourists with 50% marketing discounts (see. “Blood Tourism”), stepped into the same “bloody puddle” and the Israeli Football Association.

As indicated on January 13, 2024 Russian Sport24 Secretary General of the Israel Football Association Niv Goldstein stated that the organization will consider the possibility of holding a friendly match of the national team against the Russian team if such a proposal is received.

“Yes, it's possible. Proposals from all football federations are important to us and we must consider them. But we haven’t received anything official from Russia. Only after we receive the letter will we be able to analyze and decide. We need to see the official document, and then we will consider all options,” Goldstein was quoted as saying on January 13, 2024 Sport24.

Since the fall of 2023, the Israelis have been playing home matches in other countries.

Russian teams have been suspended from all FIFA and UEFA tournaments since 2022 due to aggression against Ukraine.

In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations, following the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, decided to suspend the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, from participation in all competitions controlled by these organizations. Russian football players missed the play-offs of the 2022 World Cup, the World Cup itself and the 2024 European Championship in Germany. The team was not allowed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

In total, in 2024, the Russian national team played five friendly matches. Valery Karpin's team beat Vietnam with a score of 3:0, Belarus, Serbia and Syria – 4:0, and Brunei – 11:0.
