FT considered ending the war in Ukraine by 2025

In 2025, Ukraine and Russia may conclude a peace agreement, but this depends on US President Donald Trump. The Financial Times writes that peace can only be brought closer by increasing support for Kyiv and increasing pressure on Moscow.

To do this, the United States must impose stricter sanctions on Moscow and increase assistance to Kyiv. Thus, the Kremlin will be forced to take peace negotiations seriously. Trump is also not advised to remove the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO from the agenda.

According to the Financial Times, Zelensky will eventually agree to Russian control of the occupied territories without legal recognition, receiving security guarantees from the United States. Ukraine's entry into NATO, in their opinion, will be frozen.

Trump is changing his rhetoric about ending the war in Ukraine. He believes that resolving the conflict is more difficult than reducing tensions in the Middle East involving Israel, Iran and Syria. Zelensky and Putin should be ready to agree to end the war, but the details are still unknown.
