The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has expressed concern about IDF attacks in Gaza, including an airstrike near Kamal Adwan Hospital where dozens of people were reported killed. The organization also noted problems with access to northern Gaza for UN humanitarian groups and the difficult situation for Palestinian Arabs in the area.
Lack of waste disposal facilities, overcrowded hospitals and unsanitary conditions lead to the risk of disease outbreaks, according to the statement. Arab countries have expressed strong condemnation of IDF operations at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. Employees of Hamas-controlled medical facilities claimed that the hospital was stormed and set on fire by the Israeli military.
Combat units of the 401st Brigade, supported by the AMAN and Shin Bet intelligence services, began an operation near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya. Security forces were already conducting operations against militants in the area in October 2024. Also, the army and Shin Bet successfully completed an operation to eliminate terrorist activity in the area of the Indonesian hospital in Gaza.
