December 25, 2024 Hamas and Israel blame each other for failing to reach a ceasefire agreement, although progress has already been made in negotiations.

Hamas says Israel has presented new conditions related to the withdrawal, ceasefire and return of displaced persons. According to them, the negotiations were serious with the help of mediation from Qatar and Egypt.

“The terrorist organization Hamas continues to lie, abandon agreements already reached and create difficulties in negotiations,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu also said Israel would continue efforts to return the hostages, and Israeli negotiators had returned from Qatar for consultations on the issue.

According to the BBC, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas is 90% complete, but there are several critical issues that require further agreement, including the creation of a buffer zone.

During the negotiations, difficulties arose due to new conditions presented by the parties. Israel and Hamas continue to blame each other for delaying a ceasefire agreement, despite progress in negotiations.
