On December 16, 2024, air raid sirens sounded in the Israel Center due to the launch of a ballistic missile from Yemen.
According to the IDF press service, the missile was intercepted before entering the country's airspace. Due to the risk of falling fragments, the sirens were activated, but the air defense successfully coped with the task.
Since the missile was destroyed at a high altitude, the alarm was declared over a wide area. The sound of sirens was heard in different cities, including Tel Aviv, Rishon Lezion, Bat Yam and others.
Some residents heard them even in the courthouse where the trial with the participation of Prime Minister Netanyahu was taking place – they remained in the courtroom, protected from rocket fire.
