The IDF is placing weapons in Samaria, first used previously on the Gaza border.

The Israel Defense Forces has decided to install turrets with remote-controlled machine guns in Judea and Samaria. According to sources, such installations are being purchased from the Rafael company, and their production has already begun. It is planned to place the towers at the entrances to populated areas and commanding heights with control from unit 636.

The purpose of the new weapon is to protect against terrorist infiltration and prevent possible incursions into the Green Line. Deployment will begin from the most vulnerable areas. Similar towers were previously used on the border with the Gaza Strip, where they managed to neutralize dozens of militants, despite drone attacks.

New tower designs are developed taking into account previous experience and are protected from primitive “kamikaze” drones. The IDF is taking measures to ensure the safety of the population and strengthen the defense of the area. It is planned that these automatic guns will help prevent threats and ensure stability in the region.
