Five Israelis killed in car accident in Morocco

On December 6, 2024, five Israelis, Breslov Hasidim, died in a car accident in Morocco when a car with a local driver overturned. The Israeli Foreign Ministry and office in Rabat are dealing with the incident, helping to identify and transport the bodies home for burial. ZAKA is working with local authorities and the community to plan the removal of the bodies via Casablanca to Israel.

Moroccan authorities are advising Israelis not to travel due to the level of threat and conflict. National Security Headquarters raised the threat level due to fears of terrorist attacks against Israelis. However, despite the recommendations, a group of Hasidim decided to visit the graves of the righteous in Morocco, which led to tragedy.

ZAKA staff are working to transport the bodies and maintain contact with the local Jewish community. The accident makes it difficult to remove the bodies due to the remote location, but the organization is doing everything possible to help the families of the victims and bring them home.
