Israeli explorer and local historian Ze'ev Erlich (Jabot), the founder of the Ofra settlement in Judea and Samaria, died in southern Lebanon. Ehrlich accompanied the Golani Brigade as a civilian and was killed in a clash with militants.
The incident took place at an ancient castle next to the mosque where two Hezbollah militants were killed. As a result of the battle, the researcher and one of the soldiers were killed, and the commander, Lieutenant Colonel Irum, was wounded. All this raised serious questions and investigation.
Ze'ev Erlich was a famous historian and researcher. Along with him, 22-year-old reservist Eitan Ben-Ami died in Lebanon. Over the past week, 10 Israeli soldiers have died, raising the total number killed during the war to 803.
