On November 20 at 17:00 the UN Security Council will meet to discuss the proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza. Guiana and Algeria support this initiative, but Israel has actively intervened in the process of softening the proposal.
However, the final version of the resolution made no mention of the connection between the release of the abductees and the ceasefire, which displeased the United States.
The United States demanded clear language linking both these conditions, but this is not in the final document. Israel believes the US will veto the proposal. All these manipulations and negotiations are trying to bring peace and stability to the region, but so far the results are not so obvious. It remains to monitor developments and countries' reactions to this proposal.
