Israeli military expert David Sharp noted that China has many resources, while Russia needs artillery ammunition, long-range missiles, equipment and even the most basic armored vehicles. According to Sharp, China does not want to transfer weapons to Russia because of its own interests, including maintaining the Western market.

Russia would be interested in receiving Soviet-style tanks from China, which it is removing from storage, including the base of the Mosfilm film studio. However, China chose to remain agile and protect its interests, primarily in the Western market. For him, relations with the West are more important than with Russia and Iran.

Sharp argues that China seeks to maintain a balance and does not want Russia to become dependent on it, but at the same time wants the West to divert its resources to Russia. If China transfers weapons to Russia, this could lead to tough measures from the West, damaging not only China, but also the economies of other countries.

Despite this, Western politicians are reluctant to make decisions that could negatively affect their economy and popularity. Sharp is convinced that ignoring the problem can cause extremely difficult consequences in the future.
