The US has attacked Iranian-linked targets in Syria and Yemen.

US Central Command has confirmed attacks on Syrian targets linked to Iran. This information was reported to The Jerusalem Post and Spiegel. The US military attacked the positions of pro-Iranian armed groups in both Yemen and Syria. The US Department of Defense said airstrikes targeted weapons depots of the Houthi militia in Yemen over the past weekend. And in Syria, weapons depots and a logistics center that belonged to pro-Iranian militias were attacked, CENTCOM reports.

Following a series of major events in the Middle East, on October 7, 2023, the Iran-backed terrorist group Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing approximately 1,200 people and taking 250 hostage. As a result of this war, other terrorist groups, also supported by Iran, attacked Israel. In response, Israel launched a counterattack on Iranian military installations.

Following the Hamas attack, Iran continued to launch attacks on Israel, prompting Israel to launch counterattacks on Iranian military targets. Since October 7, the US military has faced increased attacks from Iran-backed groups in Syria and Iraq. Gen. Michael Eric Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, reiterated that attacks on U.S. personnel and coalition partners in the region will not go unanswered.
