On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Lebanese sources reported the detention of one of the leaders of Hezbollah on the coast of the city of Batroun in northern Lebanon, 140 kilometers from the Israeli border. More than 20 naval commandos, similar to the Israeli ones, took part in this operation, which was coordinated with the UN contingent (UNFIL).
The detainee is a Lebanese naval officer named Amad Amhaz, who is also believed to be a Hezbollah fighter or associated with the terrorist organization. He was detained in the Zimmer of a coastal Lebanese city and taken out of the country on speedboats.
This operation is not the first for Israeli special forces on the territory of enemy countries in the Middle East. In September, during an Israeli strike on Masyaf in Syria, Israeli special forces parachuted in and captured several Iranians. Three Syrians were killed in the clashes.
The details of the operation to detain the leader of Hezbollah and persons associated with it are still being completed.
