Olaf Scholz warned Iran and Lebanon to be clear and precise.

The German chancellor called on Iran to de-escalate after Israel struck Iranian military targets in response to a missile attack. He stressed that it is important to avoid further escalation and open the door to a peaceful settlement in the Middle East, calling on all parties to stop hostilities.

Scholz also noted the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages to achieve this goal. He called on all parties to comply with these demands and emphasized that UN Resolution 1701 provides guidance for the actions of all parties, including Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The German chancellor also turned his attention to Lebanon, where he expects Hezbollah to retreat to positions across the Litani River, which will contribute to a peaceful development in the region. He stressed that UN Resolution 1701 continues to be a guide for all parties involved.
