The IDF intercepted weapons smuggling delivered in an unusual form.

On Saturday, a group of female soldiers from the Caracal battalion spotted a drone flying across the border from Egypt. It turned out that smugglers used it to transport weapons. The fighters were able to shoot down a quadcopter, which was supposed to deliver an illegal “package” with pistols and ammunition.

The Caracal Battalion, which includes many women, successfully completed the task by turning to the firepower of small arms. According to the IDF press service, the drone was stopped from delivering weapons. This is another example of the effective work of Israeli special forces in the fight against smuggling.

As noted in the report, in early September, a series of arrests related to the illegal import of goods into Israel were made in the port of Ashdod. From counterfeit goods to weapons and drugs, smuggling spread throughout the country and parts of the Palestinian Authority.
