Israel's Defense Minister Doesn't Think Diplomacy With Hezbollah Will Work, Calls for Military Action on Lebanon's Border

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant expressed his conviction that a diplomatic settlement to the conflict on the border with Lebanon is out of the question. He voiced this position during a meeting with US representative Amos Hochstein.

Hezbollah continues to maintain ties with Hamas, which, according to Galant, leaves Israel with only a military option to bring northerners home. Ynet reported that Hochstein stressed the US's readiness to resolve the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah through diplomatic means.
