US media have confirmed the existence of an Israeli army operation on Syrian territory.

The American publication New York Times reported on the IDF special forces' ground operation “Shaldag” in the city of Masyaf in eastern Syria. Military sources from Axios claim that the IDF fighters destroyed a Hezbollah enterprise engaged in the production of missiles and precision guidance systems. The special forces were collecting intelligence information about this enterprise and seized materials and documentation from it.

Before the operation in Syria, the IDF command informed the Pentagon of the upcoming actions. The opposition channel Syria TV reported on a short ground operation with the capture of prisoners in the city of Mastiaf.

Iran denies reports that its troops were captured in Israel. According to Syria TV, Israeli troops parachuted in from helicopters, descending to the ground on rope ladders.
