The Ukrainian government has decided to launch the National Cashback program to help citizens save on purchases of Ukrainian goods. According to journalist Sergey Korobkin, the program will start operating on September 2, 2024. Participants will be able to receive a 10% refund on the amount spent on Ukrainian products, including medicines and medical supplies. The maximum cashback amount will be 3,000 hryvnia per month.

To participate in the program, citizens need to open a special account and receive a virtual or physical card through a bank or the Diya app. Accrued funds will be transferred to the card once a month, before the 20th of the following month.

Korobkin emphasizes that the program will be active until December 20, 2025, and funds accrued in 2024 will need to be used before January 31, 2025. Cashback can be spent on various services and goods, including medical services, sports, cinema, food, utilities, transportation, mobile communications, charity and donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as on the purchase of military bonds.

The journalist notes that the program is aimed at stimulating demand for Ukrainian goods and supporting domestic producers. At the same time, he points out some contradictions, including funding from the state budget and the government's ability to access information about participants' banking transactions.
