The closing ceremony of the Olympics will take place at the Stade de France, where world stars, more than 100 musical performers, acrobats, dancers and other artists will take part. The artistic director of the ceremony, Thomas Jolly, called the event “record-breaking”.
“The show will see the Olympic Games disappear for a while before someone brings them back. It will be a visual, choreographic and acrobatic show with an operatic element to create a visual fresco and say goodbye to athletes from around the world,” Jolly said.
The main part of the ceremony will be a stunt by Tom Cruise, who will descend on a rope from the Stade de France and carry the Olympic flag around the stadium.
